3D

3D SIGA-PHS

The Signature Series Model SIGA-PHS Intelligent 3D Multisensor De- tector gathers analog information from each of its two fi re sensing elements (photoelectric and heat) and converts it into digital signals. The detector's on-board microprocessor measures and analyzes these signals separately with respect to a third element - Time. We call this technology 3D. It compares the information to historical readings, time patterns, and several known fi re characteristics to make an alarm decision. Digital fi lters remove signal patterns that are not typical of fi res. Unwanted alarms are virtually eliminated.

4D

4D SIGA-IPHS

People detect danger by relating many observations to one another and comparing them to familiar patterns. The simultaneous use of multiple senses allow humans to fi lter out situations which are not dangerous. The ability to detect danger depends largely on intelligence and knowledge from past experience. GE Security 4D detectors provide both. The SIGA-IPHS Intelligent 4D Multisensor Detector gathers analog information from each of its three fi re sensing elements (ioniza- tion, photoelectric, and heat) and converts it into digital signals. The detector's on-board microprocessor measures and analyzes these signals separately with respect to a fourth element - Time. We call this technology 4D. It compares the information to historical read- ings, time patterns and several known fi re characteristics to make an alarm decision. Digital fi lters remove signal patterns that are not typical of fi res. Unwanted alarms are virtually eliminated.

Photobeam

Detector de Humo Optico (Photobeam 22310-18-01)

The Fireray 2000 is a projected beam smoke detector designed to detect smoke in a large volume. The system is comprised of three pieces, a transmitter head, a receiver head, and a control box. The transmitter projects a modulated infrared light beam to the receiver. At the receiver, the signal is sent to the controller, where it is analyzed. If there is smoke in the beam path, the receiver's signal is reduced by a level proportional to the density of the smoke. When the signal strength is reduced to a level between the obscuration threshold and 93% for more than 8 to 10 seconds, the fire alarm output relay is activated. The alarm obscuration threshold may be set at 25%, 35% or 50% obscuration, depending on the application. Reduction in signal strength below 93% is indicated as a fault condition.

The controller is designed to mount near ground level where it is convenient for maintenance. The controller is powered by the fire alarm control panel (FACP) and returns both alarm and trouble signals to the FACP via relay contacts. The controller features an automatic gain control that automatically compensates for component aging, and dirt on the optical surfaces. The optional installation aid is used to quickly align the beam and a test card is supplied with each controller to perform functional tests.

Estaciones Manuales

Modulos

IMM

Modulo SIGA-IM

The SIGA-IM Isolator Module is part of GE Security's Signature Series system. This intelligent device enables part of the Signature data loop to continue operating should a short circuit occur. The module can be wired into a Class A data loop at any point.

If a fault occurs, the isolator cuts power to all devices beyond the isolator on the loop as follows:

• a short on the line causes all isolators to open within 23 msec.

• at 10 msec intervals, beginning on one side of the Class A circuit nearest the loop controller, the isolators close to provide the next isolator down the line with power.

• when the isolator next to the short closes, it reopens within 10 msec.

Once activated, the line fault isolator continuously checks the faulted side of the loop to determine if the short still exists. When the fault is removed, the module automatically restores the entire data loop to the normal condition.

The microprocessor in every Signature module provides at least three important benefi ts — Self-diagnostics and History Log, Auto- matic Device Mapping, and Fast, Stable Communication..

The power inputs may be polarized 24 Vdc to operate audible and visible signal appliances or 25 and 70 VRMS to operate audio evacuation speakers and fi refi ghter's telephones.

Signal Master

Modulo Signal Master

The Signal Master is a simple-to-use accessory that adds enhanced features to Genesis strobes and horn-strobes as well as Enhanced Integrity strobes. It is a dual-purpose module that provides pre- cision synchronization for connected strobes, and independent con- trol for connected Genesis horns over a single pair of wires. All Genesis and Enhanced Integrity strobes are self-synchronizing. When installed with the Signal Master, strobe fl ashes from devices on the same circuit are synchronized to within 10 milliseconds of each other

indefi nitely. This exceeds the latest UL 1971 require- ments in effect as of November 2000, which specify this level of synchronization over only two hours.

Genesis ceiling horn-strobes are small, compact, and attractive audible-visible emergency signaling devices. Protruding no more than 1.6" (41 mm) from the ceiling, Genesis horn-strobes blend with any decor.

Thanks to patented breakthrough technology, GE Security Genesis strobes do not require bulky specular reflectors and lenses. Instead, an exclusive cavity design conditions light to produce a highly controlled distribution pattern. Significant development efforts em-ploying this new technology have given rise to a new benchmark in strobe performance –

FullLight technology. FullLight strobe technology produces a smooth light distribution pattern without the spikes and voids characteristic of specular reflectors. This ensures the entire coverage area receives consistent illumination from the strobe flash. As a result, Genesis strobes with FullLight technology go well beyond the minimum UL-required "cross" pattern.

Depending on the model, Genesis horn-strobes feature 15 to 95, or 95 to 177 candela output (see ordering information), which is selectable with a conveniently-located switch on the front of the device. The candela output setting is clearly visible even after final installation, yet it remains locked in place to prevent unauthorized movement after installation.

Genesis horn-strobes feature textured housings in architecturally neu-tral white or eye-catching fire alarm red. An ingenious iconographic symbol indicates the purpose of the device. This universal symbol is code-compliant and is easily recognized by all building occupants regardless of what language they speak. Models with "FIRE" mark-ings are also available.

Software

Fireworks

Fireworks

FireWorks is a family of software and hardware options designed to work in concert with GE Security life safety and property protection systems.

FireWorks provides a simple user interface, taking what could be an overwhelmingly large amount of information and presenting it in an easy-to-understand format. FireWorks does this by dividing major system functions into easy-to-manage quadrants. These quad- rants make the system very intuitive to use because information is presented logically.

FireWorks is event driven. This greatly increases the user's ability to deal with system events by eliminating the confusion sometimes experienced when systems present all information at once. Fire- Works automatically prioritizes the events for the user in an Event Quadrant. Here the highest priority event is displayed fi rst, and the lowest priority event is displayed last. This allows the user to quickly determine which events warrant the most immediate attention.

Each of the other three supporting quadrants provide one specifi c piece of information that relates to the event highlighted in the Event Quadrant. Related information may include event action informa- tion (specifi c tasks the user may need to perform in response to the event), or information about the area where the event has taken place (any hazardous materials present in the area, etc.). Access control card holder information, still images, CCTV, video, audio mes- sages, web pages, and graphical maps may also be presented to aid in the understanding of an event and how it should be managed..
